
She was the fourth of seven children born to Edward and Edna Couch, in Belle Fourche, South Dakota on January 8, 1953. When an infant, the family moved to Washington where she was raised in the Warden/Moses Lake area.. In 1967, she married Steve Martinsen and welcomed her first born son Tom Martinsen. After Steve’s passing, RuthieAnn relocated to Spokane and met Nestor Aguilar and welcomed her second son, Brandy. She and Nestor parted ways and RuthieAnn moved back to Moses Lake, where she met and married the love of her life, Daniel Marez Sr and was blessed with two more sons, Daniel Jr and David Marez. RuthieAnn enjoyed sewing, bingo, knitting, crocheting, playing women’s league pool, cooking, frying fish, Tejano music, dancing and shopping.
She is survived by three sons, Tom Martinsen, Daniel Marez Jr, Daveid Marez, and 11 grandchildren that she adored and cherished their time together. Sisters Mickie (Gilbert) Williamson, Merry (Juan) Blanco, God-daughter April Cisneros, God-son Juan Mena, numerous nieces and nephews and a special friend whom she considered a daughter, Susana Sandoval.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Edna Couch, her eldest sister Ida Marie Couch, brothers Francis, Joseph and EddieBill, her beloved soul-mate Daniel Marez Sr., son Brandy Aguilar, brother-in-law Cesar Adame, nieces Sharon Rietz and Shanna Hernandez.

Please join us for the celebration of her life with viewing and Holy Rosary at 1PM on Friday, December 19th at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church. Holy Rosary will be prayed at 1:30 PM and Mass of Christian Burial at 2:00 PM, followed by interment at Pioneer Memorial Gardens.
