Juan Rocha

Juan Rocha passed away at home in his sleep on December 12, 2023 He was a resident of Moses Lake, Washington, and he loved his family and his dogs.

Juan Rocha was born on October 17, 1953 to Domingo and Felipa Rocha in Dilley, Texas. He was the oldest of their five children. The family moved to Moses Lake, Washington, in 1964 where they remained.

Juan attended Moses Lake public schools and quit school in the 9th grade to help his father support the family. He was the big brother. He enjoyed football and wrestling. He earned a letter and a trophy, was captain of the team and was proud of those accomplishments. Juan was a very hard worker. He worked for Jenson, and then Green Acres (who changed to Wilbur-Ellis, and then to Simplot). As he got older he became an applicator and a fabricator. He liked to weld and make trailers. For fun, he enjoyed fishing, bird hunting, camping and playing in the sand dunes with family and friends and listening to Spanish music.

In 1974, he married Judy Sanchez after a whirlwind romance and the two were in their 50th year of marriage when he passed. They had their first son, Juan Rocha Jr in 1975 and second son, Chano, in 1979. They were blessed with 3 grandsons and a granddaughter, Tristan, Trynadii, Tyton and Chano Jr.

Juan is survived by his wife, Judy, his siblings, Martina Rocha (Omar), Ricky Rocha (Kathy), and Javier Rocha (Janie), his children, Juan Rocha Jr and Chano Rocha (Krissy Umanoto), 3 of his grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents Domingo and Felipa Rocha, his brother Joe Rocha, grandson Chano Jr and a few pets, especially dogs Nala, Taz, Babe and MeiMei.

A celebration of Juan Rocha’s life will be held at 11AM on January 5, 2024 at the Restore City Church in Moses Lake. (2227 W Peninsula)
