Daniel Hughes Hansen

Daniel Hughes Hansen, age 61, passed away June 15, 2026.
Daniel was born May 4, 1965, in Othello, Washington, the fourth son of William Drury Hansen
and Mary Ellen Hughes Hansen. He grew up in Othello, graduated from Othello High School in
1983, and later attended Brigham Young University, where he majored in Microbiology and
participated in Army ROTC.
While at BYU, Daniel met Janice Lee Holland, who became his beloved wife and companion.
They were married by a Justice of the Peace in Provo, Utah, on May 30, 1986, and later sealed
for time and all eternity in the Atlanta Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
on May 28, 1988.
After graduation, Daniel and Janice moved to Clarkston, Georgia, where he enlisted in the Army
Reserves and worked for Nabisco. Family and friends fondly remember him supplying the
church nursery with Teddy Grahams fresh off the production line, a small gesture that reflected
his thoughtful nature.
Their first child, Julie Ann Hansen, was born on February 23, 1989. While living in Georgia,
Daniel pursued his dream of becoming a chiropractor and attended Life College. He graduated
in 1997 with a Doctorate of Chiropractic, Magna Cum Laude. The family later settled in Moses
Lake, Washington, where Daniel opened his chiropractic practice in 1999 and served the
community for 27 years.
Daniel and Janice later welcomed two sons: Griffin Hughes Hansen, born November 7, 1997, in
Elko, Nevada, and Campbell Lee Hansen, born June 12, 2002, in Moses Lake, Washington.
Daniel valued hard work and creating something lasting. He and his family purchased land and
built their home together, creating a place filled with love and lasting memories.
He was deeply involved in the Moses Lake community and served on the Board of Directors for
the Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo. For more than 20 years, he served as the rodeo chiropractor,
caring for generations of cowboys and becoming a familiar and respected member of the rodeo
family. In 2018, he was honored as Moses Lake Roundup Rodeo Committee Member of the
Year.
Daniel was also devoted to the Boy Scouts of America, spending countless hours mentoring
and supporting young men. He especially enjoyed helping his sons, Griffin and Campbell,
achieve the rank of Eagle Scout.
Daniel enjoyed collecting coins, shooting sports, and the friendships that grew from shared
interests. Above all, he will be remembered for his willingness to help others, strong work ethic,
and devotion to family.

In 2019, Daniel experienced the profound loss of Janice, who passed away on August 24. He
often said he had lost his soulmate and best friend. In the years that followed, he devoted
himself to caring for his aging parents.
During the next five years, Daniel discovered a love for square dancing. He became quite skilled
and thoroughly enjoyed attending dances, meeting new people, and spending time with friends.
One evening, he asked a cute young woman to dance and learned her name was Amy Price.
Captivated by her, Daniel continued asking Amy to dance throughout the evening and sought
her out at future dances as well.Their friendship quickly blossomed into romance and on June
21, 2025, they were married, beginning a joyful new chapter in his life. Amy brought happiness,
companionship, and renewed light into Daniel’s life. Daniel recently wrote that Amy had become
“a bright spot” in his life. He affectionately called her his “Sunshine.” Together they enjoyed
traveling, fishing, riding motorcycles, dreaming of their future adventures, and making treasured
memories.
Daniel will be remembered for his generous heart, service to others, dedication to family, and
the many lives he touched through his work, friendships, and community involvement.
Daniel is survived by his wife, Amy Price Hansen; his children, Julie Lisonbee (Josh), Griffin
Hansen (Mica), and Campbell Hansen; his brothers, Chris Hansen (Nancy), Jeff Hansen
(Elizabeth), and Andrew Hansen (Lori); and his sister, Mary Arnold (Russ).
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Holland Hansen; his father, William Drury
Hansen; his mother, Mary Ellen Hughes Hansen; and his brother, Jon Hansen (Muncie).
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 1515 S. Division St. Moses Lake, WA
98837. The service will be streamed via Zoom, please reach out to a family member if you are
interested in accessing the link. Viewing will begin at 10 AM followed by the service at 11 AM.
Interment at Pioneer Memorial Services 14403 Road 2 NE, Moses Lake, WA.
