Daniel Zarate
December 2, 1998 – June 13, 2024
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Daniel Zarate on June 13, 2024. Born on December 2, 1998, Daniel was a beloved son, brother, and friend who touched the hearts of many with his kindness, compassion, and unwavering love.
From a young age, Daniel demonstrated a remarkable spirit. He held his head up at just two weeks old, rarely cried, and was a joy to his young and inexperienced mother. He had curly dark hair, adorable brown eyes, and a gentle nature that made him an easy and loving baby. Daniel was a fast learner and excelled in school, always at the top of his class. His artistic talents were often displayed in the crafts and drawings he lovingly created for his mother.
Daniel’s love extended beyond his immediate family. He cherished his time spent with his Great Grandpa Henry, his Aunt Channel, his Aunt Chalissa, his Aunt Ckathleen, his Uncle Jason, his cousins, especially Elias, with whom he formed a special bond, and his friends. He formed unique and lasting bonds with his extended family, including his great aunts and uncles. His generosity and kind spirit touched many lives, and he was known for his willingness to help others, whether through a listening ear or a thoughtful gesture.
In high school, Daniel faced challenges but persevered with determination, graduating and setting an example of resilience and dedication. His compassion shone through in his care for his Great Grandpa Henry, his Great Uncle Jr., and his Great Aunt Baby during their illnesses. His rescue bulldog, Chula, was a testament to his love for animals and his nurturing nature.
Daniel's dream was to start a family of his own and raise his children in a loving environment. Though his life was tragically cut short, he had begun a career as a lawn care specialist, a job he loved and was deeply appreciated for.
Daniel leaves behind a legacy of love and positivity. He is survived by his mother, Melissa Nimley (Sateah); his father, Esiquio DeLeon Jr.; his sisters, Meliya Zarate and Beautiful Nimley; his step-siblings; his half-siblings; his great aunts; his grandmother, Kathy Zarate; his uncle, Jason Zarate (Gina); his aunts, Channell Enriquez (CJ), Chalissa Badley, and Ckathleen Badley; his paternal aunts and uncles; his niece, Ameliya Fifer-Zarate; and his nephews and nieces. He is now reunited with his Great Grandpa Henry, his Great Uncle Jr., and his Great Grandma Mitzi in Heaven.
Daniel’s memory will forever be cherished by those who knew him. His legacy of kindness and love will continue to inspire us to be better and to treat others with the same compassion he embodied.
