Eunice Dick, 95 and a half, entered into eternal rest on October 20, 2023 at her home of 75 years near Mount Hope, Washington. She was born in Lincoln County, Washington on April 25, 1928, to Gilbert Leroy and Gertrude Lillian (Selde) Simons, and joined one sister, Ardis (Dashiell), at the family home in Hawk Creek Canyon. When she was a teenager, the family moved to Millwood and Eunice graduated from West Valley High School and went on to Eastern Washington State College. Eunice married Gordon Dick on October 1, 1948 and together they raised three children, Katherine, Susan and Timothy. Both Eunice and Gordon were active in McIntosh Grange, leaders of the Rockford 4-H Club, officers of the Washington Association of Wool Growers, and both retired from Freeman School District as bus drivers, touching and nurturing the lives of many young people along their path, including Michael West and Jeffrey Jonquet. Eunice was known for her fashionable footwear, expert seamstress skills, a quick wit and infectious laugh which she retained to her final moments. Her inability to rock the cute shoes the last three and a half years of life was a bit trying for her, but she could still crack a joke and filled her days with cross-stitching pillow tops. She outlived most of her family and friends, but left a legacy of love for her 3 children Katherine (Gordon) Venneri, Susan Freeman and Timothy (Christine) Dick , 9 grandchildren, and 11 great-grands as well as the many others she took in over the years. A celebration of life is slated for 1:00 PM, November 25, 2023 at the McIntosh Grange Hall, 20 W Emma Street, Rockford, Washington. (a Potluck, of course). Memorials may be made in her name to the McIntosh Grange
