In Loving Memory of Gladys Ella Albert
September 20, 1936 – June 18, 2026
With heavy hearts and endless love, we announce the passing of our beloved Gladys
Ella Albert, who left this world on June 18, 2026, at the age of 89.
Gladys was the heart and soul of her family—the matriarch whose love, strength, and
unwavering devotion shaped generations. Born in Minnesota, she spent much of her life
as an agricultural worker, embracing hard work with resilience and determination. While
living in Moses Lake, she met the love of her life, Clyde Albert, Sr., and together they
built a beautiful life, raising five incredible children and creating a legacy that will
continue for generations.
To know Gladys was to love her. To talk with her was to leave feeling loved. She had a
remarkable way of making everyone feel like they belonged, whether they were family,
friends, or someone she had just met. She was kind beyond measure and would have
gladly given her last dollar if it meant seeing someone she loved smile.
Above all else, Gladys cherished her family. She found her greatest joy in being
surrounded by her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was the
caregiver everyone could count on, always putting others before herself and making
sure those she loved were cared for. She wasn’t just a grandmother—she was “Gram”
and “GG” to grandchildren and friends alike, a title she wore with pride and
unconditional love.
Gladys also knew how to enjoy life. She was famously known by many nicknames,
including Coffee Cup Mama, Happy Bottom, and Glad-Ass—titles she accepted with
laughter and a mischievous grin. If you ever saw her, chances are she had a cup in her
hand. The only mystery was whether it was filled with coffee or a stiff drink. Either way,
she was always ready for a conversation, a laugh, or simply to sit with the people she
loved most. She also loved to garden, whether it was vegetables or her petunias.
The impact Gladys made on this family cannot be measured. We are who we are
because of her love, her sacrifices, her wisdom, and the example she set. Her influence
will continue to live on through every child, grandchild, and great-grandchild whose life
she touched.
Gladys is lovingly survived by her five children: son Clyde Albert Jr.; son Lawrence
Albert; son Bruce (Angie) Albert; daughter Linda Valdez; and daughter Rochelle
(Timothy) Moore.

She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Baleigh (Justin) Newton; Joseph
(Melissa) Alvarado; Xavier Moore; Nichole Albert (Josh); Dillon Gallaway; Ashlee Albert;
Tevin Albert; Cameron Ross (Ruby); Evelyn Herrera (Urban); Michael Herrera;
Emanuel (Sherrie) Herrera; Yvonne (Jose) Garcia; Emma Albert; Whitney Albert
(Eddie); Sinclaire (David) Peebles; Emanuel Martinez; along with countless beautiful
great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Gladys is also survived by her siblings: sister Ardella Larsen; sister Marlene (Ken)
Conway; sister Clara (Salvador) Padilla; sister Louella Alexander; and brother Keith
Johnson.
Our family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to Gladys’s daughter, Rochelle,
who lovingly devoted herself to caring for her mother over the last decade. She spent
countless hours managing doctor’s appointments, organizing medications, advocating
for her mother’s care, and, most importantly, being her very best friend. Because of
Rochelle’s selfless love and dedication, Gladys was able to remain in the comfort of her
own home, exactly as she wished.
We would also like to sincerely thank her daughter, Linda Valdez, for sharing the
responsibility of caring for their mother during the final chapter of her life. Linda’s love,
compassion, and commitment helped honor Gladys’s wish to be surrounded by family
and remain at home until the very end.
Finally, our heartfelt thanks go to the incredible Hospice team and Pioneer Memorial
Services for their compassion, kindness, and unwavering support during one of the
most difficult times in our lives. Your empathy, dignity, and humanity will never be
forgotten.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that Gladys’s love did not end
with her passing. It lives on in every story shared around the table, every family
gathering, every cup of coffee raised in her honor, and maybe even the occasional stiff
drink enjoyed with a smile and a laugh—just the way she would have wanted. In the end
she said she was ready to go to heaven, and so she did.
She leaves behind a family strengthened by her love, forever grateful for the gift of
having called her Mom, Gram, GG, Sister, Aunt, and friend.
She will be deeply missed, endlessly loved, and forever remembered.
There will be a Celebration of Life on July 12, 2026 at 2:00PM at Zamora Park (410
North Clover Dr. Moses Lake).
