Jon Steven Besel, beloved Father, Grandfather, and friend passed away peacefully after a short battle with cancer, on March 1st, 2024 at his home in Moses Lake Washington. Jon was born March 9th. 1950, in Wenatchee, Washington and was raised in Waterville, Washington. Jon Graduated from Waterville High School in 1968 and immediately enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was honorably discharged in 1972. Upon discharge he returned to Waterville.
He later moved to Othello, Washington where he met his wife Cynthia Kudrna and together they had four children.
Jon's favorite hobbies were watching his beloved Seahawks, beer drinking and playing pool, watching WWE with his grandson Wyatt, and clowning around with Emily. He loved his Grandchildren very much. He loved that him and Wyatt shared birthdays a day apart and loved celebrating together. Jons favorite place to be was on the Oregon coast. His favorite fishing hole was a lake in the methow valley. His prized possessions were his family. Jon loved spontaneous road trips and always carried his fishing pole. Up until his cancer diagnosis, Jon was loving his job at sportsman's warehouse working in fishing. He loved his work family. Everyone who met Jon couldn't help but be taken in by his infectious smile and laugh, his gift of story telling, and his zest for living life well.
Jon is preceded in death by his father Henry (Hank) Besel and his mother Ethel Louise Carpenter and a younger sister Tammy (Fletcher). He is survived by his sister Sally lohr, brothers Kirk Besel and Kevin Besel. His beloved children : Aundrea (Michael )Wolfe, Leann (kyle) Jorgenson, Ryan Besel, (Michelle Leedom) adopted son Grover, Travis Besel and grandchildren Wyatt, Emily, Jessica, Dustin, Hannah, Landon and Jake.
