Jon Albert Hatt

on Albert Hatt passed away on July 2, 2024. He was born on August 22, 1939, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Blanche M Greenly and Albert W Hatt. Jon moved to Graham, WA, with his parents and brother Robert, where they ran a dairy farm raising prized Holsteins. He was actively involved in FFA during his youth, taking on various leadership roles. After graduating from Bethel High School, Jon ventured to Washington State University, joining the Farmhouse Fraternity and forming lifelong friendships while earning a degree in Dairy Science.

During his junior year at WSU, Jon met Sally Ann Romain during the Homecoming serpentine. They married on April 14, 1962, and cherished 62 wonderful years together. Jon served in the Army stationed in France for four years, where he and Sally welcomed their first child, Kimberly Ann. Upon completing his service, Jon began a distinguished career with The Federal Land Bank, starting in Puyallup. It was here that their second child, Jennifer Marie, was born. Shortly after Jennifer's arrival, the family moved to Blackfoot, Idaho, where Jon worked as an appraiser for the bank and welcomed their youngest, Steven Jon.

In 1971, Jon accepted a branch manager position in Moses Lake, WA, marking their final move before settling on their farm in 1973. Despite the fluctuations of the banking industry, Jon remained steadfast until his retirement. Beyond working full-time, Jon put in additional hours at home on the farm, deeply committed to its upkeep, and dedicating countless hours to raising prize-winning animals with his family. The farm was not just their home for the last 51 years, but a testament to their hard work and commitment  to agriculture. He leaves behind a legacy of honesty, integrity, and work ethic, known for his love for his family and farm, and his exceptional Dutch Oven chicken.

Jon is survived by his loving wife, Sally; daughters Kim Hatt (Dan) and Jennifer Dennis (Larry); son Steve Hatt (Nikki); grandchildren Emily Stevens (Jake), Josh (Paige), and Makayla (Mark). His brother Robert (Martha) and their children Celina, Carl, Christina and their spouses. The family extends heartfelt thanks to Brookdale Hearthstone and Hospice for their compassionate care.
