Leona Jean Jordan was born on March 25, 1940. She had four brothers and one sister. Her family moved frequently before settling in the Yakima, Cashmere area.

Leona left home at a young age and later married Arvis Leroy Lynch. Together they had two children, Monty and Brenda, in the early 1960s. The marriage lasted a short time.

In 1971, Leona married Richard George Pygott. Together they had one child, Richard Stanley Pygott, born in 1973. After many years of marriage, Leona and Richard divorced, and she later changed her name to, Leona Jean Jordan.

Leona was blessed with many grandchildren and many more great-grandchildren.
