Myra Moore Obituary

Myra Jean Moore, 87, longtime Moses Lake, Washington resident passed away peacefully Saturday, March 6, 2021 in her home. Myra was born in Newry, S.C. to Levis and Minnie Sluder. She attended school in Seneca and graduated from Seneca High School. She married Joseph Moore on Nov. 10, 1951 in Newry, S.C., and later were sealed for time and eternity in the Mesa, Ariz. Temple on June 26,1964. Myra raised her three children and worked at the Moses Lake High School cafeteria. She loved working with the students and staff and was well known for her sweet smile, southern accent, and for her giant cinnamon rolls that she made at the school. Myra enjoyed cruising the lake in the family boat, serving and checking in on the elderly in town, and working in the garden with her flowers. Her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren brought her much joy. She was a faithful and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter- Day Saints and loved serving in all capacities of the church. Myra is survived by her son Grant and his wife Corinne Moore of Sacramento, Calif., daughter Melissa and her husband David Madrishin, of Moses Lake, Wa.; 14 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren; sister Cindy Sluder of S.C.; and many friends — all of whom will miss her kindness and her example of always following Jesus Christ and serving others as He would do.
