Perry L. Davis passed away peacefully at his home in Moses Lake, Washington, the city he loved and proudly called home.
Perry was born on June 14, 1941, in Medford, Oregon, to Loyal and Edna Davis. He spent his early years in Oregon and graduated from Hillsboro High School in 1959. Shortly after graduation, Perry answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Army. He was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, where he served with distinction as a paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne Division.
Following his honorable military service, Perry pursued technical training as an A&E mechanic, a foundation that would lead him into a lifelong passion for aviation. On October 28, 1967, he married the love of his life, Barbara Wormdahl. Together they began an adventurous life, moving to Reno, Nevada, where Perry attended flight school and earned his commercial pilot’s license.
In 1969, Perry and Barbara moved to Anchorage, Alaska, where Perry worked as a bush pilot and flight instructor. His skill, courage, and love for flying were evident as he navigated some of the most challenging and remote flying conditions in the country.
In 1971, the couple settled in Moses Lake, Washington. Perry joined Moses Lake Air Service as a crop duster, a role that perfectly matched his love of aerobatic flying. His dedication and expertise led him to become the owner of Moses Lake Air Service in 1978. Crop dusting was not just a career for Perry; it was a passion he took great pride in.
Perry will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud veteran, and skilled aviator. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara Davis; his daughter, Wendee Schasel and her husband Kevin; his son, Brett Davis and his wife Karla; and his cherished grandchildren, Tate Determan and Brooklyn Determan.
A graveside service will be held on February 14 at 12:00 p.m. at Pioneer Memorial Gardens in Moses Lake. A gathering to celebrate Perry’s life will follow at the home of Perry and Barbara Davis.
Perry’s legacy lives on in the skies he loved, the family he treasured, and the many lives he touched throughout his remarkable journey.
