Ruben Miranda Bernal was born on May 23, 1959, in Morelia, Michoacán, Mexico, to Maria de Jesus Miranda Martinez and Filimon Bernal.

Ruben is survived by his four children: Victoria, Ruben Jr., Leticia, and Antonio; and his grandchildren: Jaycelynn, Eli, Cruz, and baby Zahiar, who is on the way. He also leaves behind his siblings: Maria Bernal, Teresa Bernal, Serafina Bernal, and Pedro Miranda.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rosa Bernal; his daughter, Lucy Bernal; his parents, Maria de Jesus Miranda Martinez and Filimon Bernal; his in-laws, Rosaría and Juvencio Hernández; and his siblings: Maria de la Luz Bernal, Celia Bernal, and Filimon Bernal.

Ruben grew up in the vibrant city of Morelia, Michoacán. Where he spent his early years surrounded by family, tradition, and the values that would shape him into the man he became. From a young age, he showed a strong work ethic and a deep love for his family—qualities that would remain constant throughout his life.

As a young adult, Ruben moved to Warden, Washington. In search of opportunity and a better future for his loved ones then in 2008 moved his family to Moses Lake, Washington. Ruben was a devoted husband to his late wife, Rosa and a proud father to their children. Together, they created a home filled with warmth, laughter, and strong family bonds.

Ruben worked in various trades over the years and was well-known for being a skilled handyman. He could fix almost anything and if he didn’t know how, he was quick to learn, do his best and lend a hand wherever it was needed. His passion for cooking was another gift he shared generously—whether it was a family gathering or a simple meal at home.

Beyond his work and home, Ruben was a quiet yet steady presence to those who knew him. He may have not remembered a name but he would always remember a face. He was a man of integrity, who was hardworking, kind and never expecting recognition but always showing up for the people he loved. His legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the meals he cooked, the things he built, and the love he gave so freely.
