Longtime Moses Lake resident Ray Groff passed away on Dec. 1, 2018. He was born in Oklahoma, with his family finally settling in Boise Valley, where he met and married the love of his life, Agnes Phelps. They celebrated 70 years of marriage this past September. They raised two sons and one daughter here in Moses Lake.
Ray worked for United Concrete Company in Moses Lake, and was a major player in installing concrete pipe for the vast irrigation project in the Columbia Basin. The importance he placed on family was obvious to both his family members as well as his friends. He was well loved and respected by all, and will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his seven brothers and one sister, as well as his oldest son Larry Groff. He is survived by his wife Agnes Groff; daughter DeAnna Groff; son Roger Groff and his wife Connie; grandchildren Terra Wheeler (Brian), Trae Groff, Kara Fisher (Jerome), Heather Pearson, Christopher Groff and Tiffany Groff as well as 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-granddaughters.
Graveside service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 5 at Pioneer Memorial Gardens, 14403 Rd 2 NE followed by a Memorial Service at 3 p.m. at the Seventh-day Adventist Church at 1601 W. Valley Rd., Moses Lake.
